Every 10th of October is celebrated in Bolivia the Disabled Person Day in order to commemorate the promulgation of a national law that seeks the reinforcement of obligations and rights of all disabled people in Bolivia.

This time a parade was organized among the 32 institutions that work with this population in town, and our volunteers were part of it.

They walk alongside the children they work with and got the applauses and cheers from the people around.

The slogan of this year parade was: education, health and work.

Ciuadela and its music program   (published in Bolivia)

It's great to see how the things improve at the placements where we work, slowly, but surely. Every volunteer is able to take things further away thanks to the work done by others.

This is the case of the music program in Ciudadela. It began as a project focused on  Bolivian traditional music, but later, thanks to the donation and enthusiasm of volunteers that passed by that orphanage, the program started to grow and now children are having drums and bass lessons besides musical instruction on guitar, charango, zampoña and quena.

The results are quite interesting, not only children are very happy about learning how to play new musical instruments, but also volunteers are able to teach new things while learning more about the music and instruments of our country.

The perfect combination between give and get I would say!

No matter the reason that brought volunteers to our destination, nothing can beat a big smile and tight hug from the children that they have been taking care of.

Therefore, we wanted to share you some images that motivate our volunteers in destination to keep going, so you can get a sneak peak of what it's expecting you in Bolivia.

Enjoy!
