Last Wednesday, we had a barbecue with all the volunteers at one of the volunteer's host family. There was a beautiful blue sky above us, and all the ingredients of a nice evening, veggies, kefta, mint tea, sweets and snacks, and nice positive vibrations!

We were all involved in preparing everything for the barbecue, well, except me I confess, I was playing paparazzi!

We split into teams, slicing up the veggies, spicing up the kefta, preparing the mint, lighting the barbecue fire and grilling the whole thing.

After all preparation was done, the first grilled pieces of green peppers, tomatoes, onions and kefta started falling on the plates. But they didn't remain there for too long. We all had a nice barbecue dinner, all along with the yummy snacks that the host family prepared for us.

But Get Togethers are not only about food. It is a good opportunity for all of us to spend some nice time together, get to know each other better, and volunteers exchange about their weekend plans! Nice discussions were taking place here and there, and some music and singing too!

The host family joined us for a barbecue sandwich and a cup of tea.

By the end of the evening, Asmaa, Adil and some of the volunteers played Adil's synchrony game.

We then headed back home with nice memories and full bellies

Looking forward to next Get Together, we're having dinner outside with current and some upcoming volunteers from France and the US!

Our monthly 'Get Together' for March went really great! We had the chance to enjoy of the company of all the volunteers, staff and some placement supervisors.

There was loads of quesadillas, guacamole, meat and drinks! After that some guys decided to dance along with some salsa!

I have to say that looking at everyone dancing made me realise that there has been loads of improvement in salsa...probably because of the salsa classes! So I think they will continue...
