On the weekend all of the volunteers met at Chinchero, a town in between Cusco and Urubamba. We started off at 10am for a walk down through the mountains towards the Sacred Valley. Even though it was a downhill walk it was made a little bit more difficult after a night of partying the day before :) However the views were beautiful and as we walked along this Incan trail we got to see part of the Chinchero ruins. We were also lucky to have a perfectly sunny day even though we are in the rainy season!! After three hours we made it to Urquillos in the valley. By this stage we all deserved our lunch of corn soup, chicken, flan and chicha morada (purple corn drink) at Don Antonio´s in Urubamba!
