McDía Feliz!   (published in Argentina)

On Friday November 18th we held our monthly social. This month we did things a bit differently, but it was a great time nonetheless!

On this particular Friday, all of the McDonalds restaurants in Argentina held a fundraiser for the Casa de Ronald McDonald. The proceeds for the sale of all Big Mac hamburgers went towards the Casa de Ronald McDonald in Argentina to help fund the construction of hospitals and other projects. The Casa de Ronald McDonald foundation shelters ill children and their families who come to Cordoba to get long term, complex medical treatment and who cannot afford to stay in Cordoba. This is one of our care placements and we have had volunteers working at the Casa de Ronald over the years. Buying a Big Mac helped support a great cause for one of our care placements - why not get all the volunteers involved!

To play this safe, we met before dinner at a local amusement park in downtown Córdoba. Probably every Cordobés has been to this park at least once, so it was time for the volunteers to give it a try! The park had every ride possible to get you as dizzy as possible (which is why we did dinner AFTER the park)! When we were all ungry (and dizzy) we headed over to McDonalds for a BigMac and fries.

In total Projects Abroad Argentina purchased 36 BigMac comobo meals, of which all of the proceeds went towards the Casa de Ronald McDonald! We all at together in a neaby plaza, and with happy faces and full stomachs, volunteers all went in their own directions to see where the rest of the night would bring them!
