Not to be outdone by the Nadi volunteers, the Suva volunteers also enjoy their first themed social dinner at the EnchantedFiji restaurant on Knolly Street. Showing the Bula spirit of Fiji, we all came dressed in a range of Bula clothing from red Bula dresses and shirts, Sulus hand printed by Host moms and all that may fall in between. Our menu for the night was equally delicious and stunning to looking at! Kokonda, Ota (leafy veggies in coconut milk), Rourou (dalo leaves cooked in Coconut milk), Baked fish, Seafood Mornay, Char-grilled veggies with dalo or rice, all mouth watering with a selection of fruit juices and mixed fruits for dessert. We dined under the beautiful evening sky on an open deck, enjoying the lovely weather. It was the last social for 3 of our volunteers and it was sad to say good-bye. We ended the night as usual at Bad dogs café leading to group dances at O’rileys. We did attract attention as you don’t often see 15 people dressed in Bula, dancing and singing together and having so much fun! I am sure it was a memorable evening for all our volunteers and plans are on the way for ideas to the nest themed night! I am sure it will be another success!!!!
