I can't find my last blog from Tues to Thurs the 22 to the 25 but I remember writing it so I will just continue, included the post about the c section. Thursday was EBAIS and then relaxed at night.
Friday Dr. Vega gave us Friday off and went to the colegio de medicos over in San Jose. Got to relax there, played some futbol with his son and just relaxed in the pool and ate lunch at the college. Home around 1 or 2 and then relaxed and got packed for the weekend. Chris got off work at 4 and then we waited for Bernie. He ended up having to work late and then couldn't make it so we went without him, just Chris, Elise and I. Stopped at Outback Jack's on the way to Jaco for a beer and some food. Some crazy Australian man (but very nice) ran the place, and it was the most tacky but awesome decorated restaurant I have ever seen, it was just hilarious. Then continued on to Jaco and got drinks at a place called Plankton. Nice bar looking over the main strip of Jaco and a busy Sat night. Ended up sleeping in the car right on some private beach. Ocean waves and lots of stars was a good sleep. Up around 6 with the sun, but a very pretty beach to wake up to. Drove to Manuel Antonio that morning. Palm tree plantation on the way, literally millions of trees for palm oil. Had a good breakfast in Quepos over looking a large jungle revine with mountains in the background (as mostly everywhere in Costa Rica). Went to look for a place to stay and found a nice little motel place on the beach and 100 m from the Manuel Antonio park entrance. Couldn't have lucked out more. Only about 30 dollars, and split 3 ways a very cheap way to be so close to everything. Off season so that is why so cheap. Got ready and then off to the national park, one of the most visited places in Costa Rica. Walked on many trails and saw lots of wild life, the thickest jungle I have been in and it was awesome. Saw monkeys (howler and white-faced capuchin monkeys, snakes, sloth and lots of iguanas) Took a long hike up to one of the tallest peaks and it looked over the ocean and mountains going out as small pennisulas. Then went to a beach, it was paradise, just amazing and words can't describe, I'll show pictures when I get home. Then walked further and went to another beach. Lots of monkeys here running around and getting photographed. Breathtaking everywhere. Then went to a third beach and it was amazing again. After many hours in the park came home for a nap (not much sleep the night before). Up and walked around once the sun went down. Got some drinks and just relaxed on the beach listening to wildlife and and the waves. Nice little town of Manuel Antonio. Went to a BBQ restaurent on the way to Quepos and Chris brought his bongos and started playing with the 2 guys doing live music. It was hilarious but Chris is amazing at the bongos, could be on Costa Rica's got talent. Got a very nice, expensive dinner, first time since I have been here. The BBQ was amazing (got meat and chicken skewer (massive), and ended up eating Elise's (pineapple chicken and some of Chris's dinner (shrimp and rice). One of the best dinner's I have had it was amazing. Then went to Quepos and wandered around that town, lively night. Home to bedskis.
Well up around 6 again with the noise and the sun. Went out to the beach we were on (different from the ones of the park). Relaxed here for a long time and some good swims, love the ocean and nice big waves. Saw a 3 foot tropical fish yellow and black swim along a breaking wave it was awesome. Then walked along this beach and went to a hidden beach over some rocks. Lots of surfers everywhere, I want to try it the next time I come somewhere tropical. The small hidden beach was the best I have ever seen, this was paradise. Small cove like beach so strong but fun riptides with the waves. Back to the hotel and out around 12 or 1 and then on the road. Back to Jaco stopped at 2 more beachs, and another one passed Jaco. Probably about 20 beaches along the stretch from Manuel to Jaco and we have seen most of them, all very pretty. Nice drive home through the mountains and jungle again and home for dinner and an early bed. This weekend was the most amazing yet, even beat monday at playa blanca. Recommend going to Manuel Antonio to everybody reading this blog and in the world hahah.
Monday back to work. Went to the EBAIS with Elise to work with Dr. Perez again. Very busy morning, and Monday is pregancy day so lots of measuring fetal belly girth and finding the fetal heart rate again. Very hands on and like that a lot. Some other patients but mostly Perez had to examine them. Home around 12 and have been relaxing since. Most powerful rain and thunderstorm yet, it was awesome. O ya, rained Fri night on the way to Jaco and then Sunday night on the way home, with only sun and blue skies the entire weekend, same as playa blanca, just great luck I have. Walked to the cafe now and the power was out at home, for about 15 mins. Walk into the cafe and the power comes right on hahah I need to buy a lottery ticket. Well only a few days left this has been an awesome trip and see everybody soon.
