I’ve been home for almost a week now and I can say… I wish I was back in Ghana! I’m sick because of the cold weather and everything is going so fast, I have so much work to do!
The last week in Ghana was really nice, I had a great time with Zane. My entire stay in Ghana went really well, I didn’t have any medical or other problems which is good, I’ve been lucky!
I want to say some things to all of you, that’s why I’m writing in English. Projects Abroad is an expensive organization and there are a lot of things that irritated all of us volunteers…
The localization of our homes and workplaces weren’t always close to each other, some of the volunteers had to pay a lot everyday to go to work by taxi, there were no other options. For example me, my home was in Abura and my work in town while a friend of mine lived in town and had her workplace in Abura! Crazy!!
If you go to Cape Coast you have to know about mister Grant. He is quiet lazy and doesn’t help you much, he’s the highest person in Cape Coast for the organization so… that was annoying sometimes. He also, I don’t know if he does it on purpose, lies to us… like to get a taxi to Accra. He told me that the price is 120cedi and gave me a number of someone he knew. I found out that a taxi is max. 100 cedi! Such things shouldn’t be happening to volunteers!! I really didn’t like talking to him or asking things to him, he never seemed to be excited or happy about anything, he always looked bored and not interested in what we had to ask or say.
I hope Projects Abroad will hear these things and do something with it.
For the rest, I advise you all to go!! It was amazing to be there!!!
Thanks for reading my blog, I hope you’ve enjoyed it!
